**A CINDIRELLA TALE**

Just like the million others who is living under the same sky, I'm just trying to find that significant one to write my own fairy tale stories...

The Bonus Issue

You know that the time of the year had arrived when everyone is busying asking around about the bonus. Never failing, there will always be people who are overjoyed about it and there will be some (make that a lot) who will be unhappy about it.

What about me?

Surprisingly, I did not feel too much about the whole issue. It was an additional sum of money for my bank and I’m happy with that. I’m not saying that I’m a saint and I do not care about money. But it is more of a “I can’t do anything about it’ attitude. I have tried very hard in the past and got a totally disappointing grade. Obviously, I cursed and swear but that didn’t help. In fact, it makes me more miserable.

However, it seemed to be different for this year. I remembered smiling widely when I received the sms on the phone. The sum was much bigger than I had expected and it came at a time when I’m needing money. What more can I ask for? Of course my spirit will be damped a little when I realized there are some others who seemed to do equally much but getting more. Having stayed in this service for a few years, one will soon come to realize that workload is not equal to a good grade. There are other things to take into factor. For example, did you work smart enough to allow others to see it? More importantly, do your bosses like you? I’ve managed to maintain my grade despite the promotion last year and that have told me that I’m doing better than last year. That is good enough for me.

Right now, I’m thinking of how to spend the bonus wisely.

Very wise remarks. Your outlook has matured/become more jaded. Depending on how you look at it. But yup, retaining the same grade after promotion is a good thing!
